Five years ago, François Vautier opened up his scanner and installed an ant colony inside it. We don’t know how exactly someone goes about “installing” something like that in amongst all the wires and techno do-hickeys, but he clearly does, since his scanner kept working.
He scanned the growing colony once a week since then, and created this time-lapse video, which reminds us of the opening credits of a David Fincher film…or a really good-looking reality show.
