Fluidity of Faces

Talented French artist Micaël Reynaud has won the internet’s approval this week with his impressive act of blending and liquifying various faces into one another at a rapid speed. He took black and white headshot portraits taken by photographer Michael Jang and combined them with ripples and other similar water-like movements to give us a refreshing and unique visual experience.

With every ripple, an element from the previous face is removed to help create the image of the new face. It’s hard to tell exactly how many portraits are used, how many faces are blended together, but we’re thinking the whole point of the video is to underline this challenge. You’re not supposed to know how many faces there are, but rather how easily they can be blended to make our heads spin, all while giving the idea that we’re not as different as we may seem.
