It seems that Juan Osborne isn’t the only artist using typography lately to create portraits. Motion graphic designer Alex Verlan of Versa Studios has one-upped Osborne, having well and truly raised the bar with¬†this beautifully rhythmic piece that captures the spirit in the words of Martin Luther King Jnr.

Using kinetic typography, Alex has created a visual display of Luther King’s inspiring¬†Drum Major Instinct speech. It’s nothing new to recreate a speech video using moving text, but it’s the poetic culmination of the words into a portrait of the man himself that sets this piece aside from the others. We can’t quite fathom how much work the Ukraine-based designer must have put in to this project, but the result is just brilliant.
