Consider yourself an artist after one too many red wines? We say let your creative juices flow.

Cake Wines continues its commitment to creative culture in Australia announcing the launch of the Archi-bottle prize, open to talented artists nationwide. Winners of the Arch-bottle will join previous collaborators Mark Whalen, Beci Orpin, Hollie Martin and Kevin Tran to provide bottle art for the brands next release of wine in November.

Dubbed ‘Australia’s second most prestigious art prize’, this is the brands first national call out to talented artists to get involved. From the Adelaide Hills, the new range will consist of a Shiraz and a Chardonnay. For the Archi-bottle’s first year there is no specific brief, participants just need to download the design template (a blank bottle label) from the Cake Wines Facebook page or cakewines.com and start creating. Alongside the glory of smacking your own label on a bottle of wine, winners will also receive a cash prize, a short doco about their work and a year’s supply of wine (!). Entries close October 2, 2012 so hop to it!

Cake Wines lives within the context of creative culture – music, art, design, film, photography, ideas – that is integral to drinking and enjoying good wine. Come see this culture in action at the Portable Curators Conference in Melbourne on October 2, 2012, a one-day event featuring the leading curators and creators of culture and business across film, design, online publishing, music and more, all celebrated with Cake Wines.
