It might have come as a surprise that Avril Lavigne was recently proposed to by Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger – probably because we were surprised they were still alive and relevant, let alone shacking up together. Predictably, the announcement gave us all something to laugh/shudder at and many comments got tossed around, the term ‘apocalypse’ being a commonly used expression.

Still, there’s no denying our culture has a strange fascination with celebrities making what us plebs consider ‘bad life choices’, especially when it concerns coupling.
