Baby Trashes Tea Party

This hilarious (and surely controversial) trailer for Johannes Nyholm’s short film Las Palmas will have all the children’s rights activists fuelled with fire. The entertaining animation stars a toddler and a bunch of puppets at a tea party – so what’s controversial about that you ask? Take the tea party out of its typically innocent context and you’ve got a child guzzling a lethal cocktail of booze that’s fit for Charlie Sheen, pinching sausages off customers’ plates and trashing tables as she exits the restaurant. Frankly, it’s brilliant.

The short film was shown in its entirety at the Market Art Fair in Stockholm over the weekend and is the latest animation from the Gothenburg artist and filmmaker. Nyholm’s directed music videos in the past for Swedish bands including The Knife, Jenny Wilson and The Hellacopters. His recent work, though, has taken a turn to the more comical side, with his famed character Puppetboy making regular appearances.
