I hate to sound like a broken record, but is it me or is Girls consistently getting better and better? You would think that if one has the capability of writing episodes as funny as Sunday’s “Welcome to Bushwick — a.k.a. The Crackcident”, you would just get right down to it from the get go. But no, instead we have had to sit through a seemingly bi-polar six weeks of highs and lows, ups and serious downs of this rookie sitcom. Granted, Rome wasn’t built in a day and blah blah blah. Regardless, the past few weeks’ episodes have been chock full of punchy one-liners, hilarious anecdotes and a variety of scenarios that have had us peeing with laughter. Oh wait… was that just me. Awkward.
In “the Crackcident”, the girls set off on an exciting adventure to the depths of hipsterville — GASP! Bushwick! — for the “Best Party Ever!” One of those massive warehouse parties where they play Britney Spears really loudly on repeat and all of Brooklyn and two thirds of Manhattan are in attendance. You know, where people offer you crack in the line for the bathroom and naked chicks run around telling people to “Join the movement. Tits out for Christmas!” That kind of Bushwick party. My only question is, why the fuck wasn’t I invited?
I think it’s best to go through this episode character by character, as each of our four gals has quite an exceptionally different experience, one much more entertaining than the next. Perhaps we’ll work our way from the most dreary to the best. a.k.a Shoshanna.
