For his first foray into video advertising, Marc Jacobs, who usually prefers to stick exclusively to print, has created a commercial that mirrors the essence of his print advertisements for his Daisy Eau So Fresh fragrance, which was launched earlier this year.
Models Sophie Srej, Frida Gustavsson and Hannah Holman are the picture of purity, frolicking around in a daisy field with oversized bottles of Daisy, loving life in an endless summer afternoon in the south of Spain. There’s even some acrobatics on a white horse—or is it a unicorn?
The ad is ever so enchanting, with the soft field setting, slight breeze and soundtrack of Dream A Little Dream Of Me. Directors TJ Wilcox and Juergen Teller—Jacobs’ print photographer of choice—have carried over the young whimsy of the fragrance in the 30 seconds. It doesn’t have the grandeur of a N°5 commercial, but the understated, vintage feel works for Daisy.
The ad has been released in the UK, and will appear in the US in Spring 2012.
