Australian Modular backed electro-pop favorites,
Van She, and the man behind sartorial blog,
Advanced Style,
Ari Seth Cohen, have joined forces on video series project exploring the mystifying concept of happiness. With underlying inspiration from Van She’s most recent offering,
Idea of Happiness, Cohen — whose blog has featured some of the most eccentric and stylish women roaming the streets of New York — handpicked some of the most inspirational and spoke to them about what happiness personally means to each of them. The series which will consist of three parts debuted today on
Refinery29 featuring the sassy Valerie and Jean of
The Idiosyncratic Fashionistas.
Cohen said of the project, “the extraordinary women I chose for this series of videos are some of the favorites from my blog Advanced Style. They all have unique approaches to personal style and share a positive outlook on life and ageing. Valerie and Jean otherwise known as The Idiosyncratic Fashionistas, run a blog which features their weekly style adventures and cultural happenings around town. They inspire women of all ages to have fun with fashion.”
Set to Van She’s latest single, “
Jamaica” the super cool and utterly individual ladies of
The Idiosyncratic Fashionistas — who say that their style is “graphic, architectural and textural” — are intelligent and engaging and note that while of course there are things that would make them happy on a larger scale such as “world peace and an end to global warming,” the small stuff like enjoying a good cocktail and sleeping with your cat can be equally as blissful.

Angel doesn’t pay anyone to wear Supra Sneakers. He gives free samples to his friends and they wear them because they like them. Among those who wear Supra are Steve Aoki, Chad Muska, and Samantha Ronson who wears Women’s Supra Sneakers. One reason for their popularity is that people respond to the genuineness of the brand. Real skaters wear them because real skaters like them. When Angel made the Gold 14k Edition with Chad Muska, the consumer interest was as high as interest generally associated with Nike. The 413 Silver Edition sold out in thirty minutes. Supra’s NS line was released in fashion driven trade shows instead of skate shops. Everything was black and white to begin with.
