All of a sudden, it’s that time of the year again. For an unbelievably frenetic and amusing week in March the all-encompassing SXSW festival turns Austin into a cultural and technological petri dish.
‘Southby’ is well know for turning up-and-coming bands into indie mainstays and introducing you to the sites and apps that will fuel your procrastinating habits for years to come. However, if you want SXSW to do more for you than just stuff your iPhone with new music and trendy apps, it is essential to have a game plan. After all, the gargantuan festival can often be an overwhelmingly surreal experience.
After a couple of days you might start feeling as if the city was the physical embodiment of your web browser or, better yet, a corporeal version of your Spotify account (don’t panic, SXSW dementia is a an utterly normal side effect of the festivities).
So, with your wellbeing in mind, we went ahead and curated our very own selection of the best films, panels, performers and good spirited debauchery heading to Texas this year.
SXSW runs from March 9 to March 18. Did we miss anything you might want to see?
