A Tiny Taste of Miu Miu

A couple of days ago, we savoured this tiny morsel of a teaser from one of the most exciting collaborations in recent years, and now we’ve got the full-length to gobble down.

Filmmaker Zoe Cassavetes (daughter of John and Gena Rowlands and longtime friend of Sofia Coppola) is the first director to take part in ‘Women’s Tales’, a series of short films showcasing both the talents of female filmmakers and those of Miuccia Prada and her beloved Miu Miu.

Cassavetes’ contribution to the project is The Powder Room, which was shot in the Claridges hotel in London and features models Caroline de Maigret, Line Gost and Sophie Vlaming. The real stars of the show here, though, are the pieces from Miu Miu’s Spring 2011 collection, whose already-recognisable silk pleated skirts and detailed leather stilettos only add to ladies’ love affair with the label.

“The story is about women and their private moments, so it’s allowed to be free and dreamy,” Cassavetes said in an interview about the film, which was shot on beautifully grainy film and is a silent and nostalgic ode to the boudoirs of days past.

Take a behind-the-scenes look at the making of The Powder Room here.
