Accessories and footwear designer Melody Ehsani is a woman with a conscience. As well as designing some accessories with attitude, Ehsani’s focus is on empowering not only women, but those from disadvantaged or low socio-economic backgrounds. From a Persian background, Ehsani went to college as was expected, but soon decided to break the barriers put up by her heritage and follow her design dreams instead of falling into the corporate world.

The message that Melody Ehsani is “not her history” is something that is mirrored in her designs, with big, bold statement pieces like the magnificent Roar 3-finger ring ($78US) and the Keleido Necklace ($115US). With designs worn by the likes of Alicia Keys and Rihanna, it’s pretty clear that she has indeed forged her own path. Pieces are available via her website.
