Many of us frequently daydream about escaping the world and becoming runaways who wander off, seeking new experiences and meditating on nature and humanity. This isn’t really a possibility offered often, but Door121 in their latest short film Wild Runaway, is providing virtual escapism as captured by a vintage Super 8mm film camera.

The film is a collaboration between Door121 and photographer Zachary Handley, and features model Kendall Walters as a grungy yet glamorous runaway. Flowy dresses and skirts, leather, knit sweaters and incredibly tailored pants provided by Nick Campbell Eyewear, Meadowlark, Viparo, Hansen & Gretel and POL are not exactly what we would expect a nonconformist to wear when trekking the woods, but clearly the character in this video is not one for society set bounds.

The use of the vintage camera provides not only grittiness, but also a sense of longing for something new or maybe for the past. Even through its message about letting go, Wild Runaway is a fashion film with heavy focus on the clothing, clothing that may or may not transport you into the magical land of wilderness and freedom.
