Up and coming Australian designer, Carly Hunter made her debut at the RAFW earlier this month in true style. Challenging even some of the most experienced Australian designers showing at RAWF, her collection was romantic and multifaceted, incorporating spots, nudes, drapes and folds reminiscent of origami. A relative newcomer to the fashion world, Hunter presented her range along side a film by Alex Goddard.
Truly intense in its nature, the ethereal film by Goddard, uses Hunters choice of sheer fabrics, contrastingly with light, to highlight the different textures within her garments. Femininity is emerging as Hunters signature style, with these translucent and opaque materials employed to outline the female form. No stranger to capturing shadow and form beautifully, Goddard highlights these elements of Hunter’s garments perfectly, underpinned by the haunting music by Kane Ikin which played throughout the show.
