Barbie is meant to be a positive and empowering figure for little girls to idolize and look up to. But, realistically speaking, Barbie is a bad influence who has shown girls that in order to be attractive they must be super skinny and have long blonde hair. Therefore, it comes naturally to any human to want to mock and make fun of the 11 ½ inch piece of plastic.

In a satirical music video directed by Ellen Von Unwerth and premiered by Vs. Magazine, comes Barbie gone wild. The video begins by showing robot Barbies and Kens moving like they are actually made of plastic and have voices like machines. Queue the music, which is a techno beat of AQUA’s “Barbie Girl” and the video is officially in full swing.

Though this Barbie twist may begin as something sweet and innocent it quickly goes from calm to wild. Suddenly the dolls are in racy clothing, eating oddly familiar shaped foods and stretching in interesting positions. Complete with naked Barbie dolls in various sex positions, raunchy dancing, alcohol and topless dolls, this video resembles a typical Friday night at a Fraternity house for most college students.

The ending, deeming the best part, is when the police show up to “break up the party.” But of course, this is Barbie, and who can resist? The police end up joining in and the blinking lights from the cop cars act as a strobe light. Barbie suddenly doesn’t seem so innocent and has converted herself into a full fledge stripper. Come on Barbie, let’s go party!
