Daft Punk memes for July, 2010

If you’re anything like me, then it’s possible that you’ve got nothing on the cards for the next 17 months and have been considering making a reconstruction of Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo’s Daft Punk helmet. Well, you may as well give up now, guy, because someone has beaten us to it.

^This is Harrison Krix, a 27-year-old prop maker from Atlanta, who was commissioned to make the one-off piece by a client who I can only assume has ‘mad bank’. If you’re good at following step-by-step instructions, and have access to some industrial-grade resin, check out Krix’s website for a journal of photos that document his creative process.

^This is Janet Hansen. She is the founder and chief fashion engineer at Enlighted Designs (she also has a PhD in biomechanics, should the LED clothing industry ever go ‘belly up’). Among her work, Hansen has constructed light-up garments for Kanye West, Daft Punk, and M.I.A.
