Today, iconic haute couture designer John Galliano was relieved of his duties as Creative Director at Christian Dior following his alleged assault and anti-Semitic outburst on Thursday during late night drinks in Paris. The photo above is from a video that was not taken during the incident at La Perle restaurant, but was an earlier filmed account of Galliano making inflammatory racist comments while intoxicated, a pattern that gives weight to the supposed statements of the night that led to his termination.

With the majority of the fashion industry up in arms, the legendary designer has irreparably marred his reputation as a revolutionary fashion force. With supporting facts outweighing the small amount of doubt as to the truth of the allegations, nothing can justify or forgive the impresario’s crude, revoltingly offensive comments, but as he is expunged from the Dior beast and the fashion world (maybe even the wider world, considering the violence of popular reactions to his comments), we’re taking a moment to reflect on the happier times. Because no matter what we think of the fella’ now, the immediate past was a time when we considered his work at Dior as visionary, compelling, and outwardly inspirational.

We’ve chosen some of our favourite videos featuring John Galliano’s untainted works so you can remind yourself of better days, days when you still liked John Galliano…
