Nothing says “baby I’m luscious, seductive, dramatic and sophisticated” like a bunch of cool-toned silhouettes, close-up shots of undress-me stares, shiny vintage automobiles and 1800-sexy dulcet tones emanating from a Dior-suited Jude Law and a coat-and-little-else wearing supermodel Michaela Kocianova, all to the soundtrack of epic strings and Matt Bellamy soaring vocals. Yeah, that just about sums up Un Rendez Vous, the first in the trilogy of Guy Ritchie directed short films for the Dior Homme mens fragrance line.
As the wind oh-so tastefully blows open Kocianova’s coat to reveal a little something-something we couldn’t help but give a little immature giggle, partly because of the obvious exposure and partly because of the heavy-handed cliche and fashion faff. Over dramatic to be sure, but when you have a big brand with a big budget and a big director at the helm then why the hell not OD on OTT.
