Henson And The Lost Kids

Filmed on location in South Africa by filmmaker Michael Matthews, Lost showcases the third instalment of independent Australian designer Henson’s stunning seven part jewellery range, enta.

According to the label’s creator Andy Henson, enta (meaning seven) was developed around the idea that there are seven guardians protecting the portals to the dead. With this eery but extraordinarily interesting concept in mind, Henson set out to create seven separate character-inspired sets of jewelry, one set for each of the portal guardians. Enta represents the seven characters and the resulting range is a mix of trinkets and styles from everywhere, with a Henson twist.

Henson, who only use natural stones and work mostly with .925 Sterling Silver, made the video with the help of Melbourne Metal Collective, an artist-run initiative who organize and promote independent Melbourne jewelry designers by setting them up to collaborate with filmmakers and photographers. Not wanting to overstep the creative boundaries, Henson decided to hand their inspirational story over to a range of different artists; filmmakers, photographers (and maybe a painter) to see who was most taken with the idea, what ideas of their own they had, and really let them run with it.

The haunting short fashion film Lost was inspired by the third of the guardians. A character, which Andy kindly explained, was subsequently split into these two lost children whom appear in the film. Painted and adorned, the striking pair roam the countryside with their dog, showcasing the Lost designer range of all-white silver jewelry set with lapis lazuli. The next Henson enta installment, The Widow, is set for release in late Jan, and will be in 3D.
