Hermès have just released their A/W 2011 film and it is a visual feast that transports the viewer into a mesmerising, future world of artisan chic. Directed by the talented Nick Knight, the new collection is a modern take on the classic sophistication of the French.

The new collection fuses hand painted silks in patterns of native American indians with feathers coming alive in the subtle tones of autumn yellows and oranges with hard leather equestrian-esque hats and knee high boots in chestnut brown completing the look.  Hand-crafted pieces are synonymous with the timeless brand and are highlighted through the watercolor pieces of silk and the ripples created by the models as they embrace the theatricality of the garments.

Knight’s campaign brings the designs into the future with an almost space-like slow motion of materials fluttering in the breeze, showcasing the impeccable craftsmanship behind them. Models Alana Zimmer and Isaac Carew take on sultry movements and are engulfed by the sensuality of the label’s signature silk garments, while layered digital brush strokes add further dimension to the film, mimicking the the design process of the iconic label.
