Kiss Me Deadly Behind Closed Doors

When conceiving the idea for UK lingerie house Kiss Me Deadly‘s new fashion film, director Daniel Deville couldn’t shake the Eminem lyric, “It’s no worse than what’s goin’ on in your parents bedrooms,” from his head.

With mom and dad’s bedroom now in our head (gross), we asked the director, “What is normality?” when it comes to nocturnal behavior. The Northern Film School Graduate told Portable, ”I think to some people, sexual activity beyond what they dream as normal is either weird or alien to them, but the truth is S&M, bondage and even violence are a completely regular part of people’s lives.”

With intimate imagery, set in an abandoned morgue from WWII to the soundtrack of the Daft Punk-composed Tron: Legacy soundtrack, Kiss Me Deadly lingerie is transformed from traditional 50′s burlesque style intimates to modern pieces of empowering garments.  With the models strutting around in their barely-there ensembles, they engage in devious acts and sexual exploits.

Suspense was integral to the film, as Deville wanted to steer away from it being a traditional fashion piece due to his cinematic background. “I considered it a challenge to build a suspenseful feeling in this short space of time,” he told us.  ”What really interested me when I was writing the film was to show moments in their lives and to give the viewer an idea or feeling then let them make up their own minds.”
