When Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott set out to shoot the Miu Miu Fall/Winter 2012 campaign video, I’m not sure if they realized they were creating lunch break perfection. With exactly 62 seconds of glorious fashion, bright colors and funky designs, this video is perfect to watch during your brief lunchtime.
The film is shared between two backdrops, a closet/changing room that is an oasis of colors, fun and refreshment whereas the second backdrop, a white room, is plain and simple. Since a majority of the video is shot with a white background, this allows the clothing and accessories to pop visually and become drawn to the viewers’ eyes.
Styled by Katie Grand, model Chloë Sevigny looks almost like a porcelain doll. She has no imperfections and represents the perfect mixture between masculine and feminine vibes. We are first introduced to her boxy bob and flawless skin when she walks into a white room in a jeweled dress. From there we see Sevigny sporting both exciting and timeless pieces. From her houndstooth suit to blue heels to pink leather purses and ties completed with gems — Miu Miu adds bold personality to basic clothing.
Tied together with a vintage phone, a leather chair and a teacup fit for a Queen, Miu Miu creates a visually pleasing video for fashionphiles.
