I wonder if Genghis Khan would’ve been into high fashion. Matching sheath-and-shoe accessorising, perhaps. Something to ponder as Ulan Bator finds itself the home of the first Mongolian Louis Vuitton store, stocked with everything your high-flying fashionable Mongol could ever want. To commemorate the opening, Louis Vuitton have commissioned artist Abdesslam Oulahbib to compose a piece of traditional Mongolian music, which became the inspiration to their interactive online journey ‘Resonance’.

‘Resonance’ combines the photography of Mathieu Danet, profound text, video footage and exotic sounds to express traditional Mongolian culture in a contemporary online setting. Users find themselves immersed in a choose-your-own-adventure style non-linear narrative put together by Oulahbib’s studio, Scenarioindustrie. ‘Resonance’ is a truly poetic, foreign, rich, synesthetic take on fashion film which you should definitely pop your headphones on for.
