Singularity. Fashion. Reincarnation begins like your stock standard horror film—an abandoned house sharpens into focus, a black car winds through an empty street and eerie music provides the necessary dose of mounting tension.
However, it soon becomes clear that you are not watching the shorts for the latest teen slasher flick. Sarah Michelle Gellar is no where to be seen, for one. The girls are far too beautiful (model—not cheerleader—beautiful), the cinematography too well considered and precise and the attire far too architectural for the set of Scream 5.
Instead, Polish Multimedia and Design company Proud Pixel’s recent short fashion film, made on a budget of around just $200 smackers, is like the best nightmare imaginable. A haunted house of mystery provides the backdrop for an eerie, unsettling encounter with the most fashion forward, well dressed villains we ever did see. A beautiful girl, bathed in white light, is offered up like a sacrificial lamb, gravity defying heels run up a spiral staircase sprouting vicious metal spokes in their wake and a submarine glides forebodingly over a visible skylight.
It’s a nightmare you’ll never want to wake up from.
