Vanessa Bruno’s Brand New Miracle

Shake off that snow and stow away your boots and coats. This captivating new piece, Miracle, from Vanessa Bruno will transport you to the exotic Cuba for a first look at the French fashion house’s Spring/Summer 2011 collection.

We’re no stranger to Bruno’s incredible fashion films- she releases a new one each season, and as with her fall/winter piece, this features Bruno’s fierce but feminine muse Lou Doillon (an expert at being dreamy) as well as the graceful flame-haired beauty Jessica Joffe, in a short film that blows our minds with its unique cinematography and direction. Featuring a 360° camera setup and some impressive anti-gravity shots, the film delves from dream states to electric beats, and while we owe it all to visionary filmmaker Stéphanie di Giusto and her inspiring efforts, some credit also needs to go to the brave Lou Doillon, who had to sit in the back of a car as it was submerged into a lake for this piece!

From the romantic dreamlike trance and ethereal beauty that encapsulates the feminine side of Bruno’s range to the jungle dance party and technicolour rejuvenation of her electric and neon summer pieces, this makes for a stunning showcase. The evocative music of Four Tet, The Bewitched Hands On Top Of My Head, and Loud-E adds the final touch, with the latter providing the percussion beats for the models to drum along to in the middle of the forest. It seems plenty of models have been dancing lately, and we just want to join in!
