Zimmermann Gets Moody

There is something decidedly different about the launch of Zimmermann’s Autumn/Winter 2012 collection Rebellion In The Night. Far from playing it safe, this season the dynamic duo of Nicky and Simone Zimmermann have set out to reintroduce the iconic brand that appears to have gained itself some serious sex appeal.

Inspired by the 1920s art scene, smoky nightclubs and slow sultry sounds, this collection really pushes the boundaries with emotive silhouettes, mature cut-outs and digital prints without loosing its signature touch of colour, femininity and rich lace. The collection celebrates everything that is vintage but at the same time is very modern—a feeling that this season the brand have decided to introduce to their audience through film.

This film, one of two produced for the season (you can see the other here), builds on this idea of texture—the layers of bed linen and peeling wallpaper supporting the dark, almost animalistic mood. The images are confronting and leave no doubt that this season the Zimmermann girl is sexy and confident. As model Jenny Sweeney spins and twirls almost hypnotically through each scene, the movement of the clothes along with the cleverly constructed mood brings this collection to life. Rebellion In the Night hits stores February 1.
