Synopsis
Of his short film How I Met Your Father, director Álex Montoya says, “Every couple has two stories: the one they tell their children… and the real one,” which, in the context of this film, is remarkably sweet. In the case of our parents, though, it’s pretty terrifying.
Montoya’s film follows the charming interactions and sexual misfires of a couple whose one-night stand may or may not become something more. Treating his subject matter with a light, matter-of-factness, Montoya has created a funny, aesthetically beautiful and touching short.
How I Met Your Father is a Portable Film Festival Official Selection in 2010.
