Synopsis
Every now and then you watch a film that you connect with so viscerally, it makes you feel lucky to have been given the chance to see it. We felt that way about Skateistan: To Live and Skate Kabul, from former pro-snowboarder-turned-director Orlando von Einsiedel.
A profile on Skateistan – a non-profit organisation empowering Afghan children through skating – and some of the children who have found their place in the world through the program,Skateistan was shot on 16mm and gives us a glimpse into what the future of Middle Eastern children can be.
Skateistan is a Portable Film Festival Official Selection in 2010.
