Synopsis

Liza de Guia is a foodie and a film-maker whose video series Food Curated explores the artisan cooks creating personal gastronomical delights in the five boroughs.

In her episode on Ben Sargent’s Underground Lobster Pound, the lobster traditionalist discusses his desire to show New Yorkers what a real lobster roll is, by serving “dinner guests” (not customers) his wares from his Brooklyn apartment. The not-quite-legal venture has been a great success, and de Guia skillfully and intimately captures the spirited cook’s passion for crayfish.

The Underground Lobster Pound is a Portable Film Festival Official Selection in 2010.
