Synopsis
In his short documentary We Are Boys, director Tomas Kaan lets us spend a summer with Jim and Sam, two best friends who are about to be separated by Jim’s impending departure to high school.
The pair candidly speak about their feelings for each other and the realistic consequences of the separation, as well as their appreciation for the developing bodies they’ve begun to notice and the machismo one needs to possess in their town. We Are Boys is a comforting and familiar story told with the innocence and honesty of its young stars.
We Are Boys is a Portable Film Festival Official Selection in 2010.
