FrICTION – Trailer (HD 1080p) on YouTube

After being unhappy with the way the distribution of his 2007 film Monster Camp was handled, director Cullen Hoback has taken matters into his own hands to prevent it happening again. Hoback is asking for donations of $25 or more to release his new not-quite-documentary feature FrICTION on September 24.

Describing the FrICTION as a “fourthwall film”, Hoback asks of his audience, “what if you were scripted to behave badly?” The feature interweaves what the film – a scripted story of a student/teacher relationship – was supposed to look like, with what happened when the narrative story crossed the (you guessed it!) fourth wall, and started affecting the actors’ lives.

If you’re as intrigued as we are, you can donate here, securing yourself a DVD copy of the film, regardless of whether or not it reaches its monetary goal and makes it into theatres.
