Courtney Love Gets Animated/a Birkin

By Brodie Lancaster / October 4th, 2010 in Film / 99 views

Take one notorious musician/piece of tabloid fodder with an increasing relevance to fashion, add a director/animator with an obsession for celebrities, $5000 and six months of work. Mix it all together until you get Dark Night of the Soul, a brilliant short film from aforementioned gossip hound Michael Mouris about iconic 90s babe Courtney Love.

In the short, Courtney gets her hands on the renowned and elusive Birkin bag and goes to her pals Karl Lagerfeld, AndrĂ© Leon Talley and Michael Stipe for advice on…her life…or something. Oh, and she eats some noodles with a flower in them. That part doesn’t really matter, because it was just a dream, just a dream.

C-Love’s long been a front-row staple at fashion shows and has a massive sartorial following (don’t believe us? Check out Chloe Sevigny frothing over her frock), so it makes total sense that someone would immortalise her camel-coloured (or is it taupe? caramel?) leather accessories.
