Float – Sailing The Air

You might be damn good at making paper planes, but have you ever tried making one using rubber bands? This type of plane is often described as an F1D, which applies to aeroplane models weighing between one and two grams. A number of people from across the globe share a great passion in building F1D planes. Some even reach ‘master’ status, competing in a world championship every two years.

Float is an upcoming documentary that takes you on a journey to discover the world of F1D and the free-flight duration aeronautics. The man behind the film is director Phil Kibbe, who was captivated by the beauty of the planes after he saw a F1D flight on a video and decided to make a film about the ultralight aeroplanes. In this documentary, we are introduced to meet some of the characters and hear their personal experience related to their passion of F1D.
