Sitting in his New York apartment, smoking a cigarette amongst his vast photographic portfolio and impressive collection of vintage cameras is photographer Jimmy Fontaine. Effortlessly cool, yet humble, you get the feeling he still can’t believe he made it in the big city.
Jimmy’s 2011 collection ‘Everything Went Black’ showcases the last 10 years of his work. It includes edgy black and white rock’n'roll portraiture that has formed and defines his own photographic style and identity. He came to New York another wannabe photographer, and is one of the few who have forged a living through capturing musicians and celebrities with the lens.
Paul Stone from Drop Culture, a creative agency creating video profiles on creative visionaries, captures the raw and compelling nature of Jimmy that reflects his own living, breathing manifestation of his art. The stunning cinematography gives an insight into Jimmy’s connection with his work and his chemistry with his subjects.
