Ceremony is another film from the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) 2010 that will make its international debut later this year. The film is the directorial debut from Max Winkler (son of Fonz) and stars Michael Angarano (Almost Famous, Sky High), Lee Pace (A Single Man) and Jake Johnson (Paper Heart) alongside Uma Thurman.
The film follows the story of Sam Davis, who has convinced his best friend to spend a weekend with him under the guise of rekindling their lost friendship. Writer and director Winkler described the movie as a “coming-of-age-story in reverse — the idea of a boy who thinks he’s a man and in the end, actually realizes that he’s just a boy.”
Releasing in cinemas this April, the film also excels in the soundtrack department – boasting music from Van Dyke Parks, Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend, Kate Bush and The Animals.
