Who: Dominic Allen

What: On the Tram

Why: We were first introduced to the work of director Dominic Allen thanks to his stunning video for Roller One late last year. Continuing on the same path as his Kafka-inspired short Two Men, Dominic’s short On The Tram is an adaptation of Kafka’s short story of the same name.

The film places Somalian refugee Bangs (of Take U To Da Movies fame) on Melbourne’s most recognised vehicle as he ponders his place in the world and his reactions towards a woman he notices.

The short aids in cementing Allen’s reputation as a brilliantly pensive and poetic filmmaker, whose lyrical works will undoubtedly give you a lot to think about.
