2010 marks the fifteenth anniversary of the release of Clueless. Can you believe that Paul Rudd was the biggest name to emerge from the film? He’s even bigger than that bro from Scrubs. The question is, what did Judd Apatow’s favourite everyman do BEFORE the release of Clueless? Well, Gabrielle Birkner has come out with the answer: He was a DJ at her Bat Mitzvah in 1992.
According to Birkner, Rudd “ably and energetically led us through all of the bat mitzvah staples: Candle-lighting, Coke & Pepsi, Toasts, limbo, ‘Hands Up,’ Challah-cutting and ‘YMCA.’”
There’s something about his air guitar playing and candle-blowing that seems to suggest, ‘I’m a little bit fucked up.’ Could also be the yellow blazer/shorts combo. Whatever. I’m feeling it.
