Cedric Dupire + Marie Richeux / No More Free Memory – “plus aucune memorie vive”

French poetry spoken in a sexy accent over black and white film? Ooh la la.  Cedric Dupire and Marie Richeux’s experimental short film (again, given exclusively to Portable in full) leads us into desolate industrial wastelands in Sofia, Bulgaria.  It follows his recent documentary about the Tokyo noise scene, We Don’t Care About Music Anyway.  The sound of Jaike Stambach, and the beautiful poetry of Marie Richeux bring light and shadow into a great piece of melancholic and revealing film.  Parfait.
