The Charming Face Of Bo

Most tweens are like 9-12 year old aliens; they’re kind of wild and honest and seem, for the most part, unconcerned with the “adult themes” movie classifications vaguely warn us about. At the same time, they’re culturally aware and, as we see in BO, this video portrait by Christelle de Castro, can have pretty good taste.

The subject of the clip Kennedy “Bo” Harper, is articulate and charismatic and disarmingly so, though not necessarily because of his age. Sure, the edits might cut out dead beats in the conversation but he’s ready to tell you exactly what he wants and what he likes, which is more than you can say for plenty of people more that twice his age.

On top of Bo’s general mindset, De Castro captures him cutting a rug and a nice moment with his family on his 12th birthday— the kind of stuff that’ll be gold in a future documentary about his life if he lives up to his dreams of becoming a pro athlete or famous choreographer.
