We Are Illuminated is a new short documentary film project that is taking us inside the lives of our nocturnal neighbours. Without voice-overs or dialogue, the film will observe a night at work for five Melbourne residents- a vet at a 24-hour animal hospital, a football umpire, a stage manager of a theatre show, a stock-filler at a supermarket and a guy who installs bus shelter advertising.

We Are Illuminated,” director William Head says, “is a slice of our shared 24-hour story – the invisible relationships that bind us all and the fantastic ocean of light employed to illuminate our way.”

The film is being produced for Open Channel and Screen Australia’s Raw Nerve program, but still needs your help to get it onto our screens. Already well into production, William and his producer Lester Francois are using the crowd-sourcing platform FundBreak to reach their monetary goal of $1000 that will complete post-production. With over $500 donated, they’re already halfway there and you’ve got until October 7 to throw some cash their way, with prizes given according to how much you donate.
