Based in Amsterdam, 20 year old Rogier Houwen‘s photographs are a personal study defining his unique aesthetic. With a mixture of both color and grainy black and white images, Houwen’s portfolio highlights the amusing, unexpected and quirky moments of everyday life. From more stylized images to candid portraits, Houwen’s work may look simple however it is anything but, with reflections in glass, to shadows created by blinds or water drying slowly on clothing, there is something new and interesting to find each time you revisit his work.

Describing himself as a ‘live-image maker,’ Houwen does just that and executes it clearly finding life’s most obvious and natural forms of art as his underlying inspiration.
