Let’s face it, cleaning is no picnic. Occasionally there are Craigslist roommate ads where the writer expresses their passion for household chores, but it’s usually some elaborate ruse to get people along to view their 4” x 7” room with no window and rattraps under the bed. That’s not to say there is no pleasure in cleaning, there’s plenty of return on a day’s work, but cleaning in silence seems a bit rough.

There’s really only one way to motivate the dusting muscles, and that is to put on some good tunes and swab away. Cleaning music, much like exercise music, needs to be able to encourage, provide a rhythm to move to, and above all transport from the task at hand.
