All Day with the Morning Benders

The Morning Benders – “All Day Day Light” from Jack Ferry on Vimeo.

Sometimes, after hours spent ogling at videos and pictures of Californian band the Morning Benders we start feeling a little bit shallow…then we put on a copy of their album ‘Big Echo’ and are reminded of just how fantastic their music is. We are no longer superficial beings; we are deep individuals with great appreciation for music!

But did you see how cute they are?

The Benders’ new video for All Day Day Light (a standout on the LP) combines many of our favourite cinematic devices, including synchronised typography (which helps us to both know when to clap and learn the words without doing any googling) and the old “changing of the seasons in a short period of time” thing (like in that scene from Notting Hill). Director Jack Ferry – who’s also responsible for videos from Ted Leo, Jeffrey Lewis and Beirut – has done the unthinkable with this one, and made possibly the world’s most charming band even more likable.

The Morning Benders are touring ‘Big Echo’ all over the world for the next few months. If you’re in Europe, America or Australia, head here to see when you can catch them in the flesh.
