Notorious cool guy Ben Folds has blown us away with this new collaborative offering. The talk of the internet has been his partnership with author Nick Hornby (Fever Pitch, About A Boy), who wrote all the lyrics on the album ‘Lonely Avenue’, while Ben did what he does best: scoring, playing and singing. The first single Things You Think and its accompanying music video, though, features a couple of other familiar faces and voices.

Jack Conte and Nataly Dawn are probably better known as the YouTube musical sensation Pomplamoose. From their Californian studio, the pair cover classic tunes and pop songs in their unique and recognisable style. They also have a “see what you hear” approach to their editing; each noise/sound/effect you hear on the track will also be shown on screen. It’s a little peek behind the internet Wizard’s curtain, if you will.

The Hornby/Folds album ‘Lonely Avenue’ will be released on Nonesuch Records on the 28th September. You can pre-order your iTunes copy here or a real-life, physical copy here.
