Carnivorous Black Lips

From the monochrome streets of a noir-esque night time New York, Atlanta rascals Black Lips bring us their latest video for Raw Meat. Capturing the spirit of their music (and live performances) the film follows the rapscallion cops as they career around the city on patrol–though they seem to be causing more trouble than they prevent. Director Phil Pinto‘s use of black and white gives the video an old fashioned, noir feel, which is in stark contrast to the band’s bouncy, raucous and infectious tune. Nevertheless, at two and a half minutes long, it’s certainly a fun and fast-paced dose of classic Black Lippery.

Phil Pinto is a New York based artist and filmmaker whose directing credits to date include pieces for GOOD magazine, HunterGatherer, Nike and MTV, as well as the memorable video for Sleigh Bells’ Infinity Guitars. Co-produced by Urban Outfitters, Raw Meat is a part of the UO Video Series, which has featured Spank Rock and Toro Y Moi, among others.

Raw Meat is taken from the band’s sixth studio album, ‘Arabia Mountain’, out now through Vice Records. We’re betting it’d be a great soundtrack for inner-city tomfoolery, if the video is anything to go by.
