With the release of their sophomore album coming ever closer, the boys from The Lonely Island are packing more and more star power into their spots on Saturday Night Live than ever before!
The trio, comprised of SNL cast member Andy Samberg and his childhood besties Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone (both of whom scored jobs writing and directing on the show after Andy signed on), started shooting their pre-recorded “Digital Shorts” a few years ago and are credited with creating one of the first ever viral videos in their Narnia/cupcake/hash rap Lazy Sunday with Chris “Dr Spaceman” Parnell.
Since then, their childhood dreams of being the next Beastie Boys/98° have come true with the release of their 2009 comedy/rap album ‘Incredibad’ and cameos in their videos from the likes of Justin Timberlake, Pee Wee Herman, T-Pain, Seth Rogen and Akon.
Their newest collaborator is candy-coated hip hop queen Nicki Minaj, who joined the boys in their new video for the track The Creep. Featuring “T-Rex hands” and pencil moustaches with the John Waters seal of approval, the track is available for download here.
