There must be something particularly inspiring in the air of late because, like Robyn, Eels are pumping out the album trilogy after dealing with the pleasant problem of having too much material for one release to handle. They put out Hombre Lobro in 2009, End Times six months later and this single Spectacular Girl is off the forthcoming album Tomorrow Morning which we can expect to drop late August. All you fellas out there are going to enjoy this one; a kind of Charlie’s Angels secretary-come-assassin, a sweet as pie girl next door who gets the job done and browses through sniper mags in her spare time. What a catch. In other news frontman E (more formally known as Mark Oliver Everett) was recently questioned by police on terrorist accusations after a man fitting his description (read: big fat beard) was seen acting suspiciously outside a nearby embassy. Everett concluded that “Not every guy with short hair and a long beard is a terrorist. Some of us just want to rock.” Right on, brother.
