Had celebrated musician Buddy Holly not died at the tender age of twenty-two he would be turning the big seven-five this year. To commemorate, Florence Welch (sans the Machine) recently teamed up with an all-star cast in contribution to ‘Rave on Buddy Holly’, a cover album due for release late June.

The 19-track tribute boasts a regular who’s-who of music biz names including Patti Smith, Lou Reed, Julian Casablancas and Kid Rock, just to name a few.

Welch Recorded her cover of Holly’s Not Fade Away in New Orleans last year, in the midst of Florence and the Machine’s North American tour.

The clip produced by Louisiana native C.C. Adcock captures the firey haired songstress in her finest day of the dead attire as she belts out this beautiful rendition of the 1957 classic.
