Holy Moses! It’s Megan Washington!

Ladies and gentlemen, the caramel-coated vocal compositions of Washington have returned. Now starring in a pitch-perfect pop rendition of a modern showtune, Holy Moses features a thumping drumbeat accompanied by Washington’s signature piano and rhythmic handclapping, topped with the mischievous styling of the humble kazoo.

The music video, on the other hand, is an exercise in the peculiar. Washington takes on glitter and gold dust in a kaleidoscope of glamorous showgirls, inspired by a contemporary cabaret lit only by flames and the musician’s electric blue eyes. Directed by Stephan Lance & Mairi Cameron, who have shepherded Washington’s music videos in the past, the making of Holy Moses was a proactive snowballing of ideas generated by a trusting relationship between artists. “It’s a ‘yes’ process,” explains Cameron in an exclusive, David Ellis-directed Behind the Scenes video. “It grows from one exciting idea to the next.”

Cheorographed by Jason Coleman, Washington’s freaky yet feminine sexuality is realized through peculiar dance moves, while the lady herself is adorned in elaborate costumes by Amanda Fairbanks. Wild and sublimely wicked, Washington’s new feelgood jam is a true tribute to big band and losing your inhibitions on the dancefloor.
