The three videos for the highly anticipated new song, My Valentine from the still baby-faced frontman of The Beatles, Paul McCartney is a star-studded affair. Starring Natalie Portman and Johnny Depp, the three black-and-white videos, with cinematography from Wally Pfister (The Dark Knight, Inception), show two of Hollywood’s most beautiful people signing to the sombre track. In the solo Depp version directed by McCartney, the ageless actor sings as well as playing guitar, which got us thinking about Captain Jack Sparrow’s (a caricature of The Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards) many other non-Burton collaborations.

Depp’s collaboration with McCartney isn’t his first foray into music, lending tracks to some of his starring role soundtracks, such as Chocolat and Once Upon A Time in Mexico and his own band P which consists of members from Butthole Surfers, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Sex Pistols. While we may get distracted by younger hunks like James Franco and the superhero prowess of Ryan Gosling, something keeps us coming back to Johnny, and we think it might just be the groupie in us screaming out for a private serenade. Here are some of Johnny’s best musical moments (after the jump).
